    Description

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) offers Collection Event Grants to support a single electronic-waste collection event or a series of discrete events. Events typically also collect household hazardous waste, tires, unwanted residential pharmaceuticals, scrap metal, and medical sharps. The program supports DEQ’s responsibility to prevent, control, and abate solid waste pollution that threatens human health or the environment.

These grants form part of DEQ’s work to administer the Oklahoma Solid Waste Management Act. Funded events must use certified electronics recyclers and coordinate pharmaceutical collection with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics or the local Environmental Officer. Event documentation records what was collected through photographs, descriptions, and waste-type and quantity data.
