Description
Comcast runs the Innovation Fund to support technology and public policy research that benefits the Internet and the continued evolution of connectivity products and services. It funds technologists, researchers, and academics working on Internet-focused research, open-source software, and useful contributions such as technologies, hardware, and conferences. Its areas of interest are updated annually.
For 2026, interests include low-latency networking, home Wi-Fi performance, AI and edge computing, live video streaming, cybersecurity and privacy protections against quantum-computing threats, and quantum methods for network optimization. Comcast looks for work that addresses problems facing Internet providers or users, could be widely adopted, or could improve current practices.
