Description
The Office of Grants and Research (OGR) runs this state-funded program to help at-risk nonprofits pay for security personnel. It is intended to protect organizations facing a high risk of hate crimes or extremist attacks. Eligible nonprofits may include faith-based organizations, educational institutions, medical and health care service providers, human services organizations, and other 501(c)(3) organizations.
Funding is awarded through a competitive process. OGR prioritizes applicants that demonstrate the greatest need and propose cost-effective protection. The personnel program is distinct from the Commonwealth Nonprofit Security Grant Program, which covers broader security projects; a nonprofit may apply for both.
