The Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) offers Community-Academic Partnership Awards to jump-start new partnerships between community and academic investigators. The program enables community organizations to initiate, organize, and help lead biomedical and biobehavioral research addressing health needs identified by the communities they serve. Projects may reduce barriers to bringing clinical studies into communities, improve uptake of evidence-based interventions in community or community clinical settings, or combine evidence generation and implementation.
Priorities include innovative designs that reduce participant burden, real-time wearable data, technology supporting remote research or clinical care, and implementation science addressing barriers and facilitators to care. ITHS seeks generalizable, scalable solutions that improve the efficiency, rigor, reach, and impact of translational research beyond the pilot organizations.
