Description
Community Arts is administered by the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) as part of its Community Engagement Grants (CEG) program, with support from the New York State Council on the Arts Statewide Community Regrants program. It funds local arts projects that enable Bronx communities to experience and engage with performing, literary, media, and visual arts. Projects must be community-based and open to the general public.
CEG supports high-quality artistic work across disciplines, genres, and styles, encouraging projects that reflect Bronx residents’ lived experiences. “Community” can mean a geographic area, a cultural, social, racial, or socioeconomic demographic, or an artistic community. Engagement may include public performances, exhibitions, talkbacks, or public participation in the creative process. Supported work includes theater, concerts, dance programming, literary festivals, exhibitions, and hands-on filmmaking workshops.
