Description
The Washington State Health Care Authority’s Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery funds community-based organizations to deliver prevention and promotion programming in high-need Washington communities. Supported approaches include evidence-based, research-based, and innovative programs and strategies addressing substance use disorder prevention, mental health promotion, and suicide prevention.
Activities can include mentoring, parenting education, community awareness, training, and youth skill building. Organizations may work with Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative coalitions or other local and regional coalitions, or provide targeted programming independently. The initiative has three funding types: State Opioid Response, Dedicated Cannabis Account, and Mental Health Promotion Project.
