Description
The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) presents the Community Clinician Award to recognize work that improves infectious diseases patient care in the community. Introduced in 2025 as the successor to the Clinical Practice Innovation Award, it highlights community-based clinical contributions.
The 2026 honoree’s work illustrates contributions in outpatient treatment, antimicrobial stewardship and collaboration across care settings. His acute outpatient treatment program enables patients with serious infections to receive advanced therapies in clinics or at home, avoiding hospitalization when appropriate. The recognition also highlights sharing successful care models nationally, mentoring aspiring health care professionals and bringing local physicians, pharmacists and microbiology professionals together for education.
