Description
The Arts and Science Council’s Community Connector Grant supports new programs and expanded initiatives that broaden participation in arts and cultural experiences across Charlotte-Mecklenburg. Access is the central priority: projects must address practical, geographic, or economic barriers to participation in arts, science, and history. The program also supports innovation and sustainable cultural infrastructure through community-facing work.
Developed from the City of Charlotte Arts & Culture Plan, the grant addresses priorities concerning equitable support, removing participation barriers, and collaboration across the creative ecosystem and other sectors. Mecklenburg County, the City of Charlotte, and, in part, the North Carolina Arts Council support the program. Eligible work includes accessible public programming, neighborhood-based experiences, participatory projects, new cultural work, and cross-sector initiatives supporting community well-being.
