Description
Virginia Environmental Endowment’s Community Conservation Program funds conservation initiatives in six Virginia counties and the cities of Salem and Roanoke. Its priorities are protecting, restoring, and improving water quality; supporting land conservation; and building environmental literacy and awareness. Proposals clearly outside the program’s specified geography or purposes are declined without further review.
Past awards illustrate the range of work supported: stream and riparian restoration, community-based conservation planning, stormwater improvements, septic-system education, private-water-supply stewardship, and environmental learning for students. VEE seeks projects with a reasonable chance of tangible, lasting environmental results and encourages collaboration and collective impact.
