Description
The New York State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program—2026 Housing Activities provides federal funds to eligible cities, towns, villages, and counties to address critical community needs for low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents. Administered by Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), the program supports projects that enhance affordable housing, improve community facilities, and upgrade infrastructure tied to housing. Eligible activities include home repair, infrastructure improvements (e.g., water, sewer), rehabilitation of housing units, and enhancements to community centers. The program prioritizes projects that benefit LMI families, create jobs for LMI persons, prevent or eliminate blight, or address urgent threats to community health and welfare.
