Description
Utah’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program brings U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funding to smaller cities and counties for local community development projects. Its purpose is to help develop viable communities through decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities, principally for people with low and moderate incomes.
The program is administered in Utah by the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity. HUD monitors the state’s compliance with CDBG requirements, while a policy committee of elected officials from Utah’s seven Associations of Governments adopts program policy changes.
