Description
New York State’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is administered by the Housing Trust Fund Corporation’s Office of Community Renewal (OCR), within Homes and Community Renewal. It uses federal HUD funding to develop viable communities through decent, affordable housing, suitable living environments, and expanded economic opportunities. Program objectives include benefiting low- and moderate-income residents, creating jobs, preventing or eliminating blight, and addressing serious, imminent threats to community health or welfare.
The 2026 housing round supports owner-occupied single-family rehabilitation and infrastructure serving existing affordable housing assets. Rehabilitation addresses health, safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency while helping residents remain in their homes. Separate solicitations support public facilities, community planning, microenterprise assistance, stand-alone business assistance, imminent threats, and public infrastructure.
