Description
Missouri’s Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) Competitive Cycle provides funding for projects that improve publicly-owned facilities and infrastructure or clear vacant, dilapidated buildings. The program encompasses three main categories:
- Community Facilities: Construction of public-use buildings (senior centers, day care centers, rural health clinics, 911 services, etc.) serving broad community needs, with priority for education and health/well-being programs.
- General Infrastructure: Upgrades to local public infrastructure such as streets, drainage, and bridges to support economic vitality and resident well-being.
- Demolition: Removal of unsafe, blighted structures (primarily residential, but also commercial) that pose community hazards.
All projects must primarily benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents and demonstrate long-term viability and broad public benefit.
