    Description

The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) program supports the development of viable Indian and Alaska Native communities. Its primary objectives are decent housing, suitable living environments, and economic opportunities, principally for people with low and moderate incomes. This funding opportunity covers competitive Single Purpose Grants, whose projects must principally benefit low- and moderate-income people under 24 CFR 1003.208.

The ICDBG program also provides Imminent Threat Grants for issues that have an immediate negative impact on tribal residents’ public health or safety. These requests follow a separate process through the applicant’s regional Area Office of Native American Programs (ONAP), rather than the competitive Single Purpose Grant deadline. Imminent Threat funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the designated funds are exhausted.
