Description
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) runs the Community Development Investment (CDI) program to support redevelopment in urban, small-city, and rural Wisconsin communities. It provides financial incentives for catalytic, shovel-ready projects, with an emphasis on community-driven commercial corridor efforts. Development projects should produce measurable benefits in job opportunities, property values, or investment leveraged from local and private partners.
The program also includes Vibrant Spaces grants for public projects that make communities more attractive places to live. These projects must demonstrate a measurable quality-of-life improvement through a proactive, collaborative, community-driven effort. Eligible improvements activate commercial corridors and are intended to increase use of public spaces and visitor traffic.
