Description
Akron Community Foundation’s Community Fund Grants support nonprofits working on four community priorities: Arts & Culture, Civic Affairs, Health & Human Services, and Education. Through quarterly competitive grantmaking, the foundation seeks to meet Summit County residents’ immediate needs while addressing the root causes of problems and creating lasting, systemic change for future generations.
The program supports accessible artistic and cultural activities, stronger neighborhoods and economic opportunities, services for vulnerable residents, and programs focused on key transitions in students’ education. Each quarter, the foundation’s board requests applications, studies and vets proposals, and awards grants to nonprofits best equipped to address these needs. Funding comes from board discretionary and field-of-interest funds, along with donors who give specifically to the Community Fund.
