Description
The Department of Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation (IRRR) provides financial assistance for communities investing in foundational, business and social assets to improve quality of life in northeastern Minnesota. The agency reinvests local taconite production taxes to strengthen and diversify the regional economy, support business investment and help workers obtain education and training that meet business needs.
This collection includes community, mining and other grant programs. Supported work ranges from infrastructure and housing to demolition, energy efficiency, downtown rehabilitation, trails, cultural activities and workforce initiatives. Development Partnership grants support research, planning, education and development-based initiatives that advance long-term economic growth. Multi-organization collaboration is welcomed across the community programs.
