Edmonton Community Foundation’s Community Grants support research-driven projects that strengthen local charities and advance equity-focused science and programming in the Greater Edmonton Area.

Funding Amounts: Up to $50,000 (no Community Grant in last 5 years) or up to $80,000 (if received a grant in past 5 years); project duration up to 18 months.

Description
The Edmonton Community Foundation’s Community Grants program provides flexible funding to address a wide range of organizational needs for charities and qualified donees in the Greater Edmonton Area and Treaty 6 Territory. Eligible projects include renovations, equipment purchases, program support, operational costs, and capacity building. The program prioritizes equity-focused initiatives and encourages partnerships, particularly with organizations serving First Nations, Métis, Inuit, racialized, and other equity-deserving groups. Applications are assessed on community impact, readiness, and alignment with local needs.
