Description
The Virginia Commission for the Arts funds Community Impact Grants for high-quality creative programming, new artistic work, expansions of successful projects, and arts-based services to the field. Projects may work in any artistic discipline and at any scale. The program aims to bring meaningful arts experiences to communities, including those that are underserved, under-resourced, or under-represented.
Eligible activities include performances, exhibitions, screenings, conferences, readings, festivals, and public art that engage new audiences. Grants can also support commissions of visual, performing, or media art; enhancements that enable participation by people with disabilities; and public art that involves communities in planning, presentation, or fabrication. The Commission favors innovative, collaborative work with active, two-way community engagement.
