Description
The Virginia Department of Energy’s Community-Oriented Resilient Energy (CORE) Subaward Program supports local governments and community-based nonprofits developing projects that help Virginia communities withstand disruptive power outages. Building on the Virginia Energy Resiliency Study, it can fund solar plus storage, storage added to existing solar projects, mobile energy storage solutions, and backup generation.
Projects must advance at least one program objective: increase local energy resilience, deploy distributed energy resources, or build local capacity and community leadership in resilience. Proposals should identify the objectives they address and metrics that demonstrate results, such as people served during emergencies, energy resources installed, or training and community engagement delivered.
