Due Dates: April 1, 2027 (Application deadline)
Funding Amounts: $250–$5,000 for one year
Summary: Supports sustained, evidence-based sport, exercise, and performance psychology services developed with community organizations.
Key Information: Applicants need three years of continuous AASP membership, with an exception for students who co-author with a qualifying professional member.
The Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), through its Community Outreach Committee, funds outreach that brings sport, exercise, and performance psychology services into local communities. Projects must use research, scholarship, or theory to inform evidence-based practice and address a gap in a community organization’s existing services.
The grant prioritizes systematic, sustained programming over one-time interventions and aims to build the partner organization’s capacity to continue meeting community needs. Examples include coaching education, youth sport and life-skills programs, physical activity initiatives, leadership development, and long-term mental skills training. Funding supports program development, implementation, and evaluation—not projects primarily designed to answer research questions or test hypotheses.
