Description
Utah’s Division of Outdoor Recreation administers the Community Parks and Recreation (CPR) Grant to support traditional community park infrastructure. Funding helps construct and rehabilitate parks, fields, outdoor pools, playgrounds, and sport courts—recreational hubs that help families stay active, healthy, and connected close to home.
The program aims to serve areas with limited recreation access and communities struggling to keep pace with higher-than-average growth. Priorities include regionally significant parks incorporated into community and housing plans, projects connecting to other recreation resources, and parks combining multiple elements to serve their communities. Projects within designated centers are encouraged. Application quality, community need and engagement, municipal budgets, and planning inform project assessment.
