The Sons of Norway Foundation’s Community Partnership Grant supports projects that promote and preserve the culture and heritage of Norway. Open to individuals and groups in Norway and the United States, the program helps applicants share Norwegian heritage through community activities. Previously funded projects include cultural classes and presentations, documentation of local cultural history, and hosting visiting performing groups.
The grant is funded through the Foundation’s Heritage and Culture Fund, established in 1987 with early fundraising support from Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway. Its goals reflect the Foundation’s mission to celebrate Nordic culture and heritage through scholarships and grants to members and communities. A Foundation-appointed review committee considers how each proposed project promotes Norwegian culture and reflects one or more of the Foundation’s core values.
