The Community Pharmacy Foundation (CPF) funds projects and studies directly associated with community pharmacy practice and the advancement of patient care services by pharmacists. It seeks research and demonstration projects highlighting new and emerging innovations in patient care, including a compensation model for the care delivered. Many awards support pilots that become established services or generate evidence for larger federal or foundation implementation grants.
CPF’s strategic priorities are patient care best practices, health care delivery models, provider status, and future practice. These encompass quality improvement tools, consumer awareness, the patient’s voice, payment and delivery reform, real-time data for value-based compensation, expanded pharmacist roles, and attribution of outcomes in team-based care. CPF also supports provider recognition and greater coverage of and access to pharmacists’ services. Ideas outside these strategic areas are welcome if they advance community pharmacy practice.
