The National Lottery Community Fund’s Community Power Fund supports organisations helping local people influence the places they live, the services they use and the decisions affecting their lives. It aims to shift power towards more equitable sharing between local people, organisations and institutions. Supported work can include developing local leadership, shaping local services, influencing investment decisions and increasing community control over important buildings and spaces.
The programme backs established organisations working across a range of issues throughout a wider local area in England. It prioritises organisations accountable to local people, experienced in cross-sector collaboration, and working with communities facing the greatest barriers and least influence. Long-term support allows work to evolve as community needs change.
