Description
The California Strategic Growth Council’s Community Resilience Centers program supports neighborhood-level facilities that provide shelter and resources during extreme heat and other emergencies exacerbated by climate change. Planning and Implementation Grants support the development, construction, or retrofit of centers, alongside year-round community services and programming.
The program aims to strengthen communities’ capacity to prepare for acute emergencies and build long-term resilience. It encourages community engagement, cross-sector collaboration, community-based partnerships, and shared governance. All California communities may apply, with priority given to communities burdened by environmental, socioeconomic, and health inequities.
