Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy’s Community Resilience Grant Program supports planning and implementation projects that help Sierra-Cascade communities withstand and recover from natural disasters and ecological and economic challenges. Its specific focus is under development. Past rounds provided capacity-building resources and technical support to tribes, local agencies, and organizations.
Examples include community capacity assessments, wildfire recovery, climate adaptation, and collaboration on workforce needs in watershed restoration, forest products infrastructure, sustainable recreation and tourism, and working landscapes. Projects have also used outside experts to train community organizations or connected trainees from underserved communities with forest and watershed health professionals.
