Description
The Community Resilience Partnership provides grants and technical assistance to Maine communities and regional service providers helping groups of communities pursue climate action. Run through the State Resilience Office at the Maine Office of Community Affairs, the program supports local priorities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, transition to clean energy, and address extreme storms, flooding, sea-level rise, and climate-related public health threats.
Launched in 2021 following a recommendation in Maine’s climate action plan, Maine Won’t Wait, the Partnership combines climate mitigation and adaptation support. Its flagship opportunities are Community Action Grants and Service Provider Grants. Communities also receive project development support through the Resilience Collaborative, access to training and peer-learning events, and help with grant writing. Service Provider Grants support community enrollment, climate and energy planning, and vulnerability assessments that inform priority projects.
