Description
The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) is a federally funded program administered by the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) to reduce poverty and improve the well-being of low-income individuals and families. CSBG provides formula-based grants to 28 designated local entities (county governments, councils of governments, and nonprofit community action agencies) across Colorado. Funding supports a wide range of anti-poverty activities, including employment, education, income management, housing, emergency services, nutrition, program linkages, self-sufficiency, and health services.
The CSBG program emphasizes local control, requiring each eligible entity to conduct a community needs assessment and develop a three-year community action plan tailored to local priorities.
