Description
The Compensation for Employers of Reservists Program (CERP) offers financial grants to civilian employers and self-employed reservists in Canada. The program is designed to help offset operating costs when a reservist employee is deployed on a Chief of the Defence Staff-named operation, either domestically or abroad. Eligible expenses include hiring or training replacement workers, increasing overtime for existing staff, business realignment, or mitigating reduced revenue during the reservist's absence. Funding is provided as a one-time lump sum payment after the reservist's deployment period concludes.
