Description
The Competition Center Athlete Support Fund is a designated fund of the Grand Foundation, established through a donation from the Winter Park Ski Education Foundation and the Grand Foundation. It supports athletes participating in programs offered by the Winter Park Competition Center, helping them develop a lifelong enjoyment of mountain sports and reach their athletic potential.
The fund provides need-based assistance for summer and winter program costs, alongside merit-based support for elite athletes. Merit awards recognize athletic performance and/or help with travel costs required to compete on the global stage. The fund’s goals include sustained participation in mountain sports as well as competitive ambitions, including becoming a world-class competitor or Olympic champion. An advisory committee reviews funding requests, while Competition Center coaches recommend merit-based awards.
