Description
The Knights Templar Eye Foundation offers Competitive Renewal Grants to help Career Starter awardees advance toward independent careers in clinical or basic science research. The renewal supports one additional year of work on the original project, with new aims that logically extend its specific aims and are supported by data generated during the starter grant. It is not intended to move the investigator into a different research area; requests to finish incomplete original studies may weaken an application.
The foundation focuses on pediatric ophthalmology research aimed at preventing or treating potentially blinding diseases in infants and children. Applicants must show the significance of their proposed extension to pediatric ophthalmology and their commitment to translational research in children’s eye diseases.
