Description
The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Comprehensive Injury Center (CIC) supports injury-related seed research across the T0–T5 research continuum. Projects must address injury disparities: injuries overrepresented in underserved populations, injuries that lead to health disparities, or injury-related topics affecting populations at risk for health disparities. The purpose is to generate data or supporting information for a subsequent federal grant proposal, such as one to NIH, CDC, or AHRQ.
The program advances injury prevention and control science, particularly for marginalized populations experiencing disproportionate injury burdens or health disparities after injury. Community impact and dissemination are central to the application. Supported topics include violence, suicide, transportation injuries, adverse childhood experiences, falls, overdose, alcohol-related injury, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and drowning.
