Funder: Society for Ethnobotany
Due Dates (Anticipated): March 2027 (Abstract submission) | April 2027 (Application)
Funding Amounts: Six awards covering registration and travel up to $800 total per recipient
Summary: Supports student and developing nations’ members attending the Society’s conference in person to present research and advance their careers.
Key Information: Applicants must be current Society members; recipients must present research in person and write a newsletter account.
The Society for Ethnobotany’s Conference Assistance Awards help student members and members from developing nations offset the cost of attending its conference in person. The awards support conference participation rather than a separate research project, covering registration and travel so recipients can share their work through a poster or oral presentation.
The program connects participation in the Society with career development. Applicants explain how their research is relevant to Society members, why attending this particular meeting matters to their careers, and how they have been involved in the Society and plan to participate in the future. Recipients also share their meeting experience through a brief account for the SEB newsletter.
