    Description

The Regional Studies Association (RSA) offers conference bursaries to support members’ participation in its annual conferences. The award provides a free conference place rather than funding a separate research project. Preference is given to research students, members early in their careers, and those from countries with recognised funding difficulties who may struggle to secure support for attendance.

The 2027 Annual Conference, “Connecting Regions, Bridging Knowledge,” takes place at Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Held in partnership with its Department of Geography, the conference brings together academics and policymakers working in regional studies, regional science, economic development, policy and planning. It provides a forum for sharing research and discussing regional, urban, metropolitan and rural futures through presentations, sessions, workshops and networking.
