Description
John Jay College of Criminal Justice’s Office for Advancement of Research (OAR) supports a limited number of receptions and other formal gatherings at mission-related academic and professional conferences, conventions, annual meetings, and analogous events. The program aims to enhance the College’s institutional presence and formalize John Jay faculty involvement with the larger event, its sponsoring organization, and the discipline as a whole.
These gatherings support networking, scholarly collaboration, hiring, disciplinary engagement, research agendas, and public policy influence. Funding centers on receptions and formal gatherings rather than stand-alone research projects. Requests should explain how the larger event relates to the College’s mission and how the reception will enhance faculty involvement or benefit the John Jay community.
