Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship supports University of North Dakota doctoral students in full-time dissertation research to foster original scholarly contributions, innovation, and collaboration.

Description
The Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship is jointly sponsored by the University of North Dakota School of Graduate Studies and the Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Development. It supports doctoral students dedicating full-time effort to dissertation work during the 2027–2028 academic year. Aligned with UND LEADS and the School of Graduate Studies’ Strategic Plan, the fellowship fosters creativity, research, innovation, collaboration, and interdisciplinary research.
The program spans engineering, natural and health sciences, and professional fields, social sciences, humanities, and arts. It emphasizes dissertation research’s significance and original contributions to scholarly fields, professional practices, and relevant communities. Fellows receive guidance through monthly meetings with dissertation advisors and research and career mentors, and share their work with the campus community through presentations.
