Description
The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) runs Congressional Fellowships for early career policy professionals committed to public policy. This intensive, 12-month policy training and leadership development program provides hands-on experience as full-time legislative aides and policy analysts. Fellows spend six months in Congressional Black Caucus members’ offices, followed by six months with a congressional committee or subcommittee aligned with their interests and expertise.
Assignments connect public policy research with legislative responsibilities. Fellows may research proposed legislation, draft memos, speeches, and op-eds, facilitate brain trusts, engage with constituents, and contribute to assigned legislative portfolios. Monthly professional development sessions complement these placements, helping fellows strengthen their policy and legislative skills, build professional networks, and prepare for public-service leadership.
