Description
The Getty Foundation’s Building Networks grants are designed to strengthen global professional networks in art history, conservation, and museum practice. These grants support professional organizations worldwide in bringing practitioners and specialists—especially from countries underrepresented in art history and cultural heritage—to international conferences, meetings, and symposia. The aim is to foster knowledge exchange, mentorship, and collaboration, enabling participants to share expertise and insights with their local communities. Over 260 grants have been awarded to organizations, enhancing training and mentorship for professionals in more than 130 countries. Grants are awarded by invitation, with a focus on supporting travel for colleagues from emerging economies to attend major forums for professional exchange.
