#ConnectingMinds is an Austrian Science Fund (FWF) program supporting cooperative research that brings together researchers and stakeholders from different sectors. It funds teams combining academic and social knowledge to address social, technological, ecological, and economic challenges. The program emphasizes transdisciplinarity, innovative research approaches, community engagement, and collective learning spaces, aiming to generate new findings and potentially identify solutions while strengthening dialogue between science and society.
Support begins with workshops to develop shared project ideas and research processes, followed by research projects based on the workshop results. Capacity building for consortium members and academic project staff supports methodologically sound transdisciplinary research. The call is partly financed by Fonds Zukunft Österreich and focuses on EU Mission themes, while also accepting thematically open proposals.
