Description
SSHRC’s Connection Grants support short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization through events and outreach activities. Examples include workshops, conferences, forums, summer institutes, documentaries, exhibitions and public debates. The program supports disciplinary and interdisciplinary exchange, connections with other research fields, exchanges across academic and non-academic sectors, and international collaboration.
Activities should engage participants with research issues they value and can lay the groundwork for longer-term partnerships or research projects. Outreach must engage a broader public beyond what an event would typically achieve. SSHRC welcomes events and outreach involving Indigenous research and research-creation. The program funds mobilization of research knowledge, not projects whose primary purpose is conducting research.
