Description
The Save Our Seas Foundation (SOSF) introduced the Conservation Fellowship in 2023 to support the people driving shark and ray conservation. Rather than funding project expenses, the fellowship covers practitioners’ living costs, helping them sustain their conservation work and retain and develop expertise. It responds particularly to the challenges faced by researchers in regions with fewer resources and opportunities.
The fellowship is intended for previous SOSF grantees working in developing countries in Central/South America, Africa and Asia. Its purpose is to help these individuals pursue or continue regional shark and ray conservation projects, develop their capabilities and leadership, and translate conservation knowledge into effective, meaningful change.
