Description
This program provides financial assistance to qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and conservation districts in Massachusetts for the acquisition of land or conservation restrictions (CRs) intended for permanent conservation or recreation. The grant aims to protect open spaces, promote climate change resiliency, conserve habitats and biodiversity, and expand public access to green spaces. Projects must include a perpetual conservation restriction held by an eligible entity and ensure appropriate public access. The program prioritizes projects that enhance landscape connectivity, protect biodiversity, conserve working farms and forests, and provide recreational opportunities, especially in underserved or burdened areas.
