Description
The Conservation Partnership Grant Program supports not-for-profit groups acquiring interests in land for conservation or recreation. Funded by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, it is offered through the Division of Conservation Services and the EEA Office of Grants and Technical Assistance. Support covers purchases of fee interests or conservation restrictions, as well as due diligence costs associated with donations of land or conservation restrictions.
The program connects permanent land protection with public access. Selected projects must have a conservation restriction held by a municipal or state agency or another land trust, and provide appropriate public access, including on farms. Passive recreational activities are allowable on funded sites. Applications also document how projects support open space and recreation plans and the site's importance for climate resilience.
