Description
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) runs this competitive program to improve public transportation within and between rural communities, support tribal transportation and intercity connections, and expand transportation options for seniors and people with disabilities. It combines state and federal funding, including support from Washington’s Climate Commitment Act.
Eligible work spans transit and paratransit operations, mobility management, planning, vehicles and equipment, and small construction such as bus stop, sidewalk, facility, and park-and-ride improvements. WSDOT prioritizes projects that establish, preserve, or improve service; address needs identified through community coordination; and connect with other transportation systems or modes.
