Description
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Consolidated Grant Program combines state and federal resources to establish, preserve, or improve public transportation across Washington. It supports services within and between rural communities, tribal transportation, intercity connections, and transportation for seniors and people with disabilities.
Funding covers operating assistance, mobility management, planning, vehicle and equipment purchases, and small construction. The program emphasizes recognized community needs, community-led coordination, feasible projects, financial partnerships, and connections with other transportation systems and modes. Supported work includes rural transit, paratransit, feeder-bus connections, passenger information services, accessible vehicles, bus stop improvements, and transit facilities. Electric buses and charging infrastructure are eligible, including charging infrastructure requested without buses. Pilot projects are also eligible when applicants explain how services will be sustained or expanded.
