Description
The HOME CHDO Operating Grant is administered by the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) under the federally funded HOME Investment Partnerships Program. It supports the operational capacity of certified Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) involved in developing, sponsoring, or owning affordable housing in North Dakota. Funding is intended for reasonable and necessary organizational operating costs, including staff salaries, operational training, and general administration.
The operating grant is listed separately from HOME housing-project financing and has its own guidelines, application, and exhibit. Its purpose is to strengthen community-based nonprofit organizations’ ability to carry out affordable housing activities. North Dakota’s broader HOME program addresses housing needs through homeowner rehabilitation, rental production and rehabilitation, and homebuyer assistance.
