Description
The Contamination Cleanup and Investigation and RAP Development Grant Program, administered by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), is designed to help local communities address soil, soil vapor, and groundwater contamination at previously or currently developed sites. The program provides funding to assess and clean up contaminated properties, facilitating their transformation into productive uses that can increase the property tax base or serve important public or tax-exempt functions (e.g., commercial, industrial, office, multi-family housing, or mixed-use developments). Grants are awarded competitively based on the public benefit and statutory criteria, with a focus on serving communities statewide, including those outside the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area.
