Description
The Virginia Opioid Abatement Authority (OAA) awards competitive Cooperative Partnership funding from the Opioid Abatement Fund to regional projects involving multiple Virginia cities and counties. Projects aim to treat, prevent, or reduce opioid use disorder and opioid misuse. A proposal may describe a new effort, an expansion of an existing effort, or a combination of the two.
The partnership designates a city or county as fiscal agent to submit the application and administer an award. OAA considers how projects address service gaps and access barriers, serve communities and populations identified in its priorities, and use opioid settlement funds for allowable remediation purposes. Awards include financial and programmatic reporting responsibilities.
