Tulane University’s Committee on Research, in conjunction with the Provost’s Office, supports faculty professional development through participation in events outside the United States. The grant funds travel to international conferences, biennales, and arts festivals. Preference is given to faculty accepted to present a talk at an international conference; poster presenters, session chairs, and discussants may also apply.

Reviewers consider how participation will advance the applicant’s career and professional visibility, with attention to early-career faculty. The reasonableness of travel expenses and the availability of other travel funding also inform award decisions.
