Eligible uses include summer salary (for 9-month appointees), graduate student support, travel, supplies, and minor equipment. The fellowships are intended to help faculty prepare competitive proposals for external funding or develop new research collaborations, with a particular focus on multi- and interdisciplinary work. The fellowship period runs from June 1 to May 31 of the following year, and recipients are required to submit a progress report at the end of the award period.
